Police Department Recognizes Member Promotions

On Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, Police Chief Peter Newsham recognized several department members during a promotion ceremony. Since the last promotion ceremony, 35 sworn and professional staff listed below have been promoted and were given the opportunity to be recognized by department leadership, their peers, and loved ones at today’s ceremony. The ceremony was held at Grace Life Community Church in Bristow (20136). The Police Department takes great pride in supporting our members who have progressed in their careers and congratulates them on their achievements. 

The Police Department would like to recognize the below sworn and professional staff members who were promoted: 

Promoted to the rank of Police Major: Jaime Pavol 

Promoted to the rank of Police Captain: Heather McClane and Christopher Rice 

Promoted to the rank of Police Lieutenant: Nicole DelVecchio, Benjamin Infanti and Caillen Smith 

Promoted to the rank of Police First Sergeant: Ramona Bates, Brandon Hunt, Brian McCleese, Daniel Sullins and Amon Weaver 

Promoted to the rank of Police Sergeant: Zachary Brittigan, Kevin Ceasar, Joshua Dean, Garrett Gourlay, Luke Lambdin, Andres Maradiaga, Daniel Sekely and Ajay Singh 

Promoted to the rank of Master Police Officer: Brian Billow, Jaron Dalbeck, Victor Grimaldos, Christopher Hume, Stacey Jalivay, Tommy Jones, Mark Medina, Nicholas Kelly, Glenn Marshall, Jason Morgan, Ronald Naj, Rocheen Paris and Sergio Rivera 

Promoted within our Professional Staff: Sally Orellana to Alarm Coordinator, Heather Rankin to Administrative Specialist and Walter Valladares to Police Warehouse Supervisor
