Tai Chi
Did you know that Tai Chi can improve balance, flexibility and cardiovascular function? It can also help with stress reduction and pain relief. Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art and exercise system that combines slow, flowing movements, controlled breathing, and meditation. Come explore its many benefits in a non-competitive and supportive atmosphere that is challenging and enjoyable. Beginners and all levels are welcome! For those first-timers who want to see what Tai Chi is about, you're welcome to join the class at no cost on the last scheduled Thursday of each month. Class sessions begin in September. See all dates and times and register for Tai Chi today.
Pilates
The benefits of practicing Pilates are endless. It’s no wonder that Pilates has become one of the most popular workouts in fitness today. Pilates can help strengthen your muscles and improve your posture, flexibility and stability. At Prince William County Parks we offer a variety of Pilates class for every level and ability, including Pilates Reformer Foundations which is perfect for students new to Pilates or those who have been practicing for less than a year; Gentle Pilates Reformer, a lower-intensity beginner perfect for beginners, older adults or those recovering from an injury or post-rehab surgery; Youth Pilates Reformer; Mat Reformer; and more! Walk With a Doc
Our Walk with a Doc series brings people together for a common purpose – taking steps toward a healthier lifestyle. Walking truly is the best medicine, and we want to make it safe, accessible and fun for everyone. Each Walk with a Doc event is led by a healthcare provider who spends a few minutes talking about a relevant health topic. The walks are also an incredible opportunity for community members to connect, learn from each other, and celebrate both similarities and differences. These social connections are critical for a long and healthy life. We commit to creating a space of belonging where community members from all backgrounds feel safe and respected. Walks meet at the front desk of Chinn Aquatics & Fitness Center.
Also coming up this fall is a 4 week-line dancing program beginning on September 19; Harvest Full Moon Yoga at Neabsco Boardwalk on September 26; a Sound Bath Therapy & Meditation for gratitude and thankfulness on November 18; and so much more!
