Save on Emergency Preparedness Supplies during Virginia's Sale Tax Holiday
The Virginia Sales Tax Holiday is Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9, 2026 and you can join the Prince William County Office of Emergency Management in restocking your emergency kits with new supplies, TAX FREE.
The 3-day sales tax holiday starts Friday, August 7th at 12:01 am and ends Sunday, August 9th at 11:59 pm and it gives Virginians the opportunity to buy emergency preparedness supplies tax free in-person at stores or online. From portable generators, to chainsaws, to generic emergency preparedness supplies, save a few dollars at the store and stock up your emergency kits!
The Office of Emergency Management encourages all residents to make an emergency kit with enough supplies to keep you and your loved ones safe for at least three days. Your kits should include emergency supplies for yourself and the people you live with including pets. Since you don't know where you will be when an emergency occurs, you should keep an emergency kit in common locations, including at your home, in your vehicle and at work.
